The Brothers Chrome
Perspective. What is it? How do you acquire it? And more importantly, why am I starting a piece about Chrome Pony, one of Nashville’s burgeoning indie rock outfits, talking about it? The word kept rattling around in my head as I chatted to the guys on a warm, grey morning in March. The band consists of brothers Kyle and Tyler Davis and bassist Jota Ese, three exceptional musicians in their own right. Together, the symbiosis between the Davis brothers (the guys were born on the same day, in 1987 and 1989, respectively) on top of Ese’s chugging bass riffs creates the unique indie-rock sound so elusive to many three piece units.

Samantha graduated from Hofstra University with a BA in Print Journalism (does that even exist anymore?). Sam used her high school writing clips to convince the editors of Rolling Stone Magazine to give her an internship after her freshman year.

Since then, she has run features and reviews in RS, American Songwriter, NATIVE, 12th and Broad, USA Today, The Journal News and a host of online publications. Samantha was also commissioned by All Good Music Festival, Bonnaroo and Hangout to provide "real time" blog updates in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010, respectively.

Samantha also works as an independent consultant focused on go-to market strategy for start ups and small businesses. On any given night you can find her at her favorite venues, new restaurant, old dive bars or helping friends improve their style at the local boutiques and consignment stores in town.

Samantha lives in East Nashville, TN with her dog, Tarzan.
